Students across Fiji are eagerly awaiting the release of Year 13 results today, a significant milestone that marks the beginning of their academic journey for many. The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) is seizing this moment to encourage students planning to continue their education to apply for Government scholarships intended for the 2025 academic year. Acting CEO of TSLS, Avinay Kumar, highlighted the importance of early registration and application due to the existence of specific quotas for certain scholarships.

The application process opened on December 2, 2024, and will remain open until January 31, 2025. Mr. Kumar emphasized that students who have registered should upload their Year 13 exam results and final offer letters from their preferred Tertiary Education Institutions (TEIs) to complete their applications. Notably, applications based on provisional offer letters will not be considered for assessment.

Kumar stresses the importance of timely submissions to ensure that applicants are processed and assessed against the set eligibility criteria. Communication regarding application outcomes will be sent via email, and applicants can track their application status on the TSLS Online Application Portal.

Furthermore, he urged students to make informed choices regarding their academic pursuits, suggesting they evaluate job market opportunities in relation to their chosen fields of study. For further guidance on eligibility and available schemes, students can refer to the 2025 Community Awareness Handbook, which is accessible online and through TSLS’s social media platforms.

This communication from TSLS not only serves as an essential reminder for students to seize educational opportunities but also fosters a proactive approach to their future careers. By encouraging careful decision-making regarding academic programs, it empowers students to align their education with potential employment prospects, ultimately leading to a more successful and fulfilling future.
