The Year 13 examination results are set to be announced today, marking an important milestone for students in Fiji. In light of this, the Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS) is urging students aiming for the 2024 academic year to register and apply for government scholarships for the 2025 academic year as soon as possible.

Avinay Kumar, the acting chief executive officer of TSLS, emphasized the importance of early applications due to specific quotas for some scholarships. The registration process commenced on Monday, December 2, 2024, with applications closing on Friday, January 31, 2025.

Kumar noted that students who have already registered need to upload their Year 13 examination results along with the final offer letter from their chosen Tertiary Education Institution (TEI) to finalize their applications. It’s critical to highlight that applications based on provisional offer letters will not be considered by TSLS.

Kumar encouraged students to complete the registration process and submit their applications without delay. Once the applications are submitted, they will be assessed against eligibility criteria, and applicants will receive notifications via the email used for registration. Additionally, students can monitor their application status through the TSLS Online Application Portal.

He advised students to make informed decisions when selecting their academic programs, stressing the importance of considering job market opportunities. For further information regarding eligibility criteria and the various scholarship schemes, applicants can access the 2025 Community Awareness Handbook on the TSLS website and follow their social media pages for updates.

This initiative reflects a commitment to supporting students in their educational pursuits, empowering them to take proactive steps towards their future careers.

In summary, students are encouraged to swiftly register for scholarships while considering the long-term implications of their academic choices in the context of future job opportunities. With this proactive approach, they can enhance their chances of academic success and career fulfillment.
