The Multi-Ethnic Affairs Ministry has officially opened a permanent office in the Northern Division, with its location set at the Macuata House in Labasa. Minister Charan Jeath Singh announced that the office will not only serve as an administrative hub but will also feature a dedicated community engagement officer, Mr. Bobby Ratish Lal, tasked with overseeing various projects and managing grant distributions.
During his visit, Singh highlighted the ministry’s extensive efforts over the past two years to engage with diverse communities through various initiatives. He expressed pride in the progress made and noted that the ministry has established a clear strategic direction and operational plan. The upcoming launch of the Ministry’s Strategic Plan 2025-2027 is aimed to further enhance inclusivity and social cohesion throughout Fiji.
Singh emphasized that the plan will outline the ministry’s vision and commitment to supporting multi-ethnic communities in their development. This initiative resonates with previous efforts made by the ministry to ensure equitable opportunities for all ethnic groups within Fiji, as reiterated during his meetings in various communities, including the Indian and Pacific communities.
Additionally, this new office represents a continuation of the government’s dedication to fostering development and support for minority groups, as seen in past initiatives that included significant project funding aimed at uplifting these communities. Such commitment aligns with the ongoing emphasis on creating an inclusive society, where every ethnic group can thrive.
This development is more than just an administrative milestone; it symbolizes hope and progress for a unified Fiji where every citizen’s voice is heard and valued. By reinforcing ties between the government and its diverse communities, the Ministry of Multi-Ethnic Affairs is paving the way for a more inclusive future.
