Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagvou, President of the Methodist Church of Fiji, has called on Fijians to prioritize their faith and collaborate to uplift the nation by 2026. He emphasizes that personal and community life should be guided by faith, impacting decisions made in families, churches, government, and civil society.

Reflecting on past experiences, Dr. Turagvou believes that opportunities for progress arise when individuals work together with a common purpose. He stated, “Elevating the standard is one of the pillars within the Methodist Church in Fiji. The church must move to another level. And all the organizations, our service delivery to the people of Fiji, we must elevate to another level.”

With the new school term approaching, he highlighted the importance of supporting children, describing them as future leaders in need of care, guidance, and opportunities for learning. He urged parents to prepare their children for school, ensuring they can learn freely and confidently.

Dr. Turagvou also called for government employees, traditional leaders, and those in provincial roles to join forces with churches and NGOs, declaring that interfaith cooperation is vital. He stressed that unity among citizens is crucial to tackling social challenges and furthering national development.

His message resonates with the need for collaboration and faith-driven initiatives in shaping a brighter future for Fiji, encouraging community engagement to foster a more united and proactive society.
