The need for collective action to tackle urgent social issues like drug abuse, child neglect, elder abuse, and domestic violence was emphasized by Sashi Kiran, the Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection. Her remarks were made during the Annual Fire Walking Pooja at the Wairuku Gangamma Temple in Rakiraki.
Minister Kiran urged faith-based organizations and cultural gatherings to serve as platforms for raising awareness and inspiring action around these pressing concerns. She highlighted the importance of these gatherings in fostering unity among families and communities through shared values.
During her visit, Kiran praised the Sangam Committee for successfully organizing the annual event, which brought together men, women, children, and youth in a spirit of faith and togetherness.
