United Against Urgent Global Challenges: A Call for Collective Action

The global community is currently addressing unprecedented challenges such as poverty, violence, loss of biodiversity, climate change, health crises, and development issues.

These remarks were made by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka during the Forum Leaders Dialogue at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium, in the presence of the UN Secretary-General.

Rabuka highlighted that the diverse and urgent threats facing the world today reflect significant changes occurring globally, emphasizing that collective action is the only effective response.

He stressed the importance of robust international cooperation, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the ideals of the United Nations.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to the Pacific Islands, assuring that “every member of the UN staff working in your countries will be committed to community-based and people-centered solutions.”
