United Against Drug Abuse: Community’s Call to Action!

Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sakiusa Tubuna, has expressed concern over the increasing drug abuse issues impacting villages, particularly highlighting the problems associated with marijuana and methamphetamine. Speaking at the conclusion of the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri, he underscored that drug use poses a serious threat to village progress and contributes to the suffering of women and children.

Tubuna emphasized the need for a collective approach to combat the infiltration of these dangerous substances into communities. “We must tackle this problem collectively; the Government cannot do it alone, but if we stand united, we can prevent the widespread harm that these substances would bring to our communities,” he stated.

He noted that the two-day fundraising event was an important initiative, aimed at uniting efforts to successfully raise funds for building a multipurpose hall at the school. Tubuna expressed his gratitude to all the players who participated in the tournament and thanked the organizers for their hard work in making the event successful. He also recognized the support from the people of Nabobuco in the school’s fundraising efforts.
