Sakiusa Tubuna, the Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, has addressed the critical issue of rising drug abuse in villages, particularly focusing on marijuana and methamphetamine. Speaking at the conclusion of the Nabobuco District School fundraising Rugby 7s tournament in Naitasiri, he emphasized that drug use poses a significant threat to village development and can lead to suffering among women and children.
Tubuna called for a united approach in combating the spread of these harmful substances, stating that the Government cannot tackle this issue alone. He encouraged communities to work together to mitigate the dangers posed by drugs.
The two-day fundraising tournament was deemed a crucial step towards the goal of constructing a multipurpose hall for the school. Tubuna expressed his gratitude to all participating players and the organizers who contributed to the event’s success. He also thanked the Nabobuco community for their support in this initiative aimed at enhancing the school’s facilities.
