Union Stalwart and Lawyer Elected to Lead Telecom Company

Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Group (ATH) has announced the election of union stalwart Attar Singh as chairperson and Suva lawyer Tanya Waqanika as deputy chairperson of the ATH board.

In a recent announcement at the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX), ATH stated that the new board leadership will support its efforts to thrive and expand its influence in the Pacific region.

“Mr. Singh brings extensive experience and leadership to his new role as chairperson of ATH. His distinguished career includes roles as a union leader, board director, and board chairperson of several large entities in Fiji and abroad. He has been instrumental in driving innovation and growth within the ATH Group in his role as ATH director and director/chairperson of other ATH subsidiaries,” ATH said.

“Ms. Waqanika, a highly respected lawyer and businesswoman, was elected by the ATH Board as deputy chairperson. Her expertise in legal affairs and governance will be invaluable in navigating the complex regulatory landscapes of the telecommunications industry. Her commitment to excellence and integrity ensures that ATH will continue to uphold the highest standards in all its operations.”

ATH has subsidiaries in Fiji, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Samoa, American Samoa, and Papua New Guinea. It is the only telecommunications company listed on the SPX, with its shares last traded at $2.20 each when this edition went to press.
