Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made a significant and unanticipated visit to the home of former parliamentarian Salote Radrodro in Namulomulo, Nabouwalu, Bua, yesterday. This visit is particularly noteworthy as it was Ms. Radrodro’s first since her release from prison earlier this September.

During his visit, Prime Minister Rabuka took the opportunity to engage with Ms. Radrodro and update himself on the current state of the copra industry and its operations. His visit coincided with his tour of important locations pertaining to the China Aid Vanua Levu Road Development Project.

Ms. Radrodro’s son, Alipate Radrodro, expressed gratitude to Mr. Rabuka for taking the time to visit their family. He shared that they had previously had the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister shortly before the New Year. Alipate conveyed their hopes for a safe New Year and a bright 2025.

The family was pleasantly surprised by the Prime Minister’s visit following a church service, which added a special touch to the occasion. In turn, Ms. Radrodro extended her best wishes to the Prime Minister and the Coalition Government for the New Year ahead.

This visit underlines the importance of reconnecting with constituents and understanding local industries, particularly as the government focuses on infrastructure and economic development. It serves as a reminder that leaders appreciate the need for community engagement and dialogue, especially in challenging times.

In summary, this unexpected visit by Prime Minister Rabuka not only highlights his commitment to understanding local issues but also strengthens community ties, paving the way for a hopeful and collaborative future as they approach the New Year.
