Underdog Nasinu Stuns Ba with 1-0 Win in Digicel Fiji Premier League

Nasinu triumphed over football giants Ba with a 1-0 victory on their home ground in Round 12 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League, courtesy of a well-executed set piece that saw Adriu Nabose find the net.

Nasinu gained an early advantage in the 11th minute when young Maikah Dau delivered a free kick to Solomon Islander Don Keana in the attacking third. Keana then set up Nabose, who tapped the ball in for the goal.

The game saw tensions rise at the Fiji FA Ba Academy grounds when Nasinu’s Savenaca Nakalevu threw punches at Kalaveti Sivoi and attempted to confront the fans, leading to his red card.

Despite having the numerical advantage, Ba couldn’t capitalize, and the score remained 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Ba made multiple substitutions, but their situation worsened when Sivoi also received a red card in the 65th minute.

With both teams reduced to 10 men, the score remained unchanged at 1-0 until the final whistle.
