The Fiji Police Force is working to identify the owners of drug farms after seizing over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the North. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that ongoing efforts to reduce the supply of green drugs, specifically targeting cultivators, have led to several recent farm raids.
ACP Driu noted that a raid conducted yesterday in the Tacilevu area resulted in the seizure of nearly 400 plants believed to be marijuana. The owner of this farm has yet to be located.
In another raid in the Waisagavuna area, two farms were targeted, leading to the seizure of approximately 1,700 plants suspected to be marijuana.
ACP Driu emphasized that the primary focus is on supply reduction, with operations aimed at decreasing the presence of both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
