Fiji Airways men’s 7s star Kavekini Tanivanuakula has maintained an undefeated streak at the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s, a remarkable achievement that underscores his talent and determination. The Ba native has showcased his skills at this prestigious tournament twice, proudly representing two different teams and clinching victory both times, in 2022 and 2023.

As he prepares to defend the title with the Fiji Babas in the upcoming 14th Coral Coast 7s, set to commence tomorrow at Lawaqa Park, Tanivanuakula expresses his gratitude for being recalled to the national extended squad for this iconic event. “I first played at the Coral Coast 7s in 2023, representing the Army, and we won. I played again last year with the national men’s 7s side, where we also won and currently hold the Coral Coast 7s title,” he shared.

Looking forward to the three-day tournament, Tanivanuakula emphasizes that the team is bracing for the competitive spirit not only from local clubs but also from visiting teams. “Our preparations are going well, but there are still gaps to fill and areas to improve. Communication on the field and our defence are key, along with how we connect off the field before matches,” he pointed out, highlighting the importance of cohesion and strategy.

The Fiji Babas will kick off their campaign against Police Blues at 1:15 PM tomorrow on Ground Two. Fans eager for live action can tune in to FBC Sports to catch all the excitement from Ground One. With Tanivanuakula’s impressive track record and the team’s dedication, the Coral Coast 7s promises to be an electrifying event filled with high-stakes competition and thrilling moments.
