Ablaze Red team continues to showcase their dominance in the NewWorld Suva Netball Association weekly games competition with a convincing 10-4 victory over Huva Stallions in round five.
The team, coached by Filomena Korovulavula, remains undefeated in the competition and is determined to maintain their winning streak.
Korovulavula is also overseeing 12 teams this season, including the Angels grade which features the talented Ablaze Red team.
Comprising players aged eight to nine years old, the team’s unbeaten run throughout the first five rounds highlights their dedication and skill in the sport.
“The girls did an awesome job in their match against Huva Stallions, their defence and attack were spot on, and each player did their part well,” said Korovulavula.
She believes that the Ablaze Red team could potentially produce future stars for the Fiji Pearls national team, emphasizing the importance of starting young in the sport.
“Starting young in netball is important for these girls, it helps them improve and maybe even become future stars for the Fiji Pearls team, it’s great that these girls are getting into the game at such a young age.”
She extended her gratitude to the parents for their support in encouraging their children to play netball and praised Fiji Netball for their assistance in promoting and developing the sport.
