Ukrainian boxing icon Vyacheslav Uzelkov has passed away at the age of 45. The accomplished light heavyweight boxer had an impressive record, boasting 30 victories from 34 fights, including 19 knockouts. Throughout his career, he achieved significant accolades, holding the titles of WBA Inter-Continental, IBO International, and WBO Inter-Continental light heavyweight champion.

Uzelkov’s death followed a period of recovery from heart surgery, a tragic turn of events that has left the boxing community mourning. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation shared the news on Instagram, conveying their sorrow: “It is with deep sadness that we announce that Ukrainian boxing has suffered a heavy loss – the death of Vyacheslav Uzelkov.” They honored his legacy with a heartfelt message, stating that his name will be forever remembered in the annals of boxing history and that his strength, resilience, and dedication will inspire future generations.
