Ukrainian boxing icon Vyacheslav Uzelkov has sadly passed away at the age of 45. The talented light heavyweight boxer leaves behind a remarkable record, boasting 30 victories out of 34 fights, including 19 knockouts. Throughout his career, he earned titles such as the WBA Inter-Continental, IBO International, and WBO Inter-Continental light heavyweight championships.
His untimely passing occurred while he was in recovery from heart surgery. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, stating, “It is with deep sadness that we announce that Ukrainian boxing has suffered a heavy loss – the death of Vyacheslav Uzelkov.” They honored his legacy with a tribute, saying, “His name will forever be etched in the history of the sport, and his example of strength, resilience, and dedication to his craft will inspire generations to come.”
Known as “Steel Power,” Uzelkov began his professional career in 2004 with a win against Suleyman Dzherilov. His contributions to boxing will not be forgotten, and his spirit lives on through those he inspired both in and out of the ring.
