Ukrainian boxing icon Vyacheslav Uzelkov has tragically passed away at the age of 45. The extraordinary light heavyweight boxer leaves behind an impressive career record of 30 victories, including 19 by knockout, out of 34 matches. Uzelkov was decorated with titles such as the WBA Inter-Continental, IBO International, and WBO Inter-Continental light heavyweight championships, highlighting his prowess in the ring.

His untimely death occurred while he was recuperating from heart surgery. The Ukrainian Boxing Federation conveyed the heartbreaking news on Instagram, expressing their deep sorrow over the loss of Uzelkov. They honored his legacy by stating, “His name will forever be etched in the history of the sport, and his example of strength, resilience and dedication to his craft will inspire generations to come.”

Known affectionately as “Steel Power,” Uzelkov’s boxing journey began in 2004 with a victorious debut against Suleyman Dzherilov. His contributions to the sport will undoubtedly be remembered and celebrated within the boxing community.
