The second phase of the UK’s support for leadership training within the Fiji Police Force commenced yesterday at the Nakasi Police Station in the Eastern Division. This initiative is part of the UK Government’s ongoing commitment to enhance the capabilities of the Fiji Police Force through the College of Policing.
The specialized training aims to benefit officers at various levels, including junior supervisors, middle managers, and senior executives. Mr. Josh Kemp, Head of the UK Integrated Security Fund (UKISF) Pacific Program, emphasized the importance of investing in leadership skills to effectively address challenges across all communities in Fiji. He stated that empowering officers at all ranks facilitates better decision-making and delegation.
The training program is set to continue for three weeks, with an additional executive level training session anticipated for early September. Furthermore, the UK Government has extended opportunities for senior officers to participate in the International Leadership Programme in London. Recent participants from the Fiji Police Force include Divisional Police Commander South SSP Wate Vocevoce, as well as SSP Serupepeli Neiko and SSP Salanieta Radaniva, who have previously attended the program.
