Tomorrow at 8 AM, Parliament will hold elections to fill the position of Speaker, with two nominees put forward for consideration. In a statement, Leader of the Opposition Inia Seruiratu confirmed that he would nominate Ruveni Nadalo, the former Deputy Speaker. Mr. Seruiratu highlighted Nadalo’s extensive experience in this role, which has equipped him with a thorough understanding of parliamentary procedures, the ability to manage legislative discussions, and a capacity to facilitate debates impartially and effectively.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has expressed his support for Justice Filimone Jitoko as a candidate for the Speaker position.
