Turtle Island Resort has provided a boat that will transport students to and from school in the Yasawa Group. The vessel was officially handed over to the elders of Matacawalevu Village.
The resort noted the necessity for a larger boat to ensure that more students can be safely transported to school, particularly during rainy conditions or when choppy seas create spray. They expressed delight at witnessing the students’ joy during the boat’s inaugural trip, as they passed Turtle Island on their way home while wearing their lifejackets.
The resort expressed gratitude for the chance to collaborate with the chief and the parents’ committee of Matacawalevu.
