Tui Vuda, Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, marked his 94th birthday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi on Wednesday. The celebration was attended by traditional leaders from Vuda, members of chiefly families, and villagers from Viseisei. This occasion also marked the 14th year of Ratu Eparama’s leadership in his community.
Expressing his gratitude, Ratu Eparama said, “I thank God for giving me life, allowing me to be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and guidance that enable me to continue leading my vanua at this age.” He also extended his appreciation for the love and support he has received from those around him.
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, noted that Tui Vuda is the only living eldest iTaukei paramount chief. He added, “May God continue to bless his life, his leadership, and his vanua.”
