Rusiate Tudravu, who has recently been nominated as the new Commissioner of Police, plans to consult with the Ministry of i-Taukei Affairs, along with the Minister and the Permanent Secretary, before stepping down from his position as chairperson of the Tailevu Provincial Council. Tudravu believes that resigning is the right course of action given the responsibilities associated with his new role.
“I think it will be only proper that I step down from there because of the task that has been given to the Commissioner of Police,” he stated. He emphasized the importance of seeking advice from relevant authorities before making the final decision regarding his resignation.
Mr. Tudravu is scheduled to officially commence his duties as Commissioner of Police on February 3, 2025.
