Labasa defender Unaisi Tuberi has been appointed as the captain of the newly formed Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal team. The 30-year-old, hailing from Nadogo, brings significant experience to her leadership position, having previously led the Fiji Kulas.
Head coach Jerry Sam commended Tuberi for her leadership skills and extensive understanding of the game. “You can see Tuberi standing out during training; she has leadership qualities and can quickly organize herself and communicate with the players, which is crucial in futsal as we need someone like that to guide the team,” Sam stated.
Supporting Tuberi in her role will be former Kulas player and current Rewa Women’s representative Naomi Waqanidrola.
