The Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Service (TSLS) recently conducted its inaugural pre-departure orientation for High Achievers Higher Education Level 7 students in the Central Division. This initiative is designed to equip scholarship recipients with essential knowledge and guidance before they embark on their educational journeys abroad.
During the session, TSLS officials outlined the academic responsibilities, reporting requirements, and compliance expectations that scholarship holders must adhere to. Students learned about the necessary steps they need to take prior to their departure and the support available while studying overseas. TSLS emphasized its ongoing commitment to assist students throughout their academic endeavors, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.
The program featured an open forum where students and their families could voice concerns and clarify expectations related to their upcoming studies. Following the group sessions, each student had the opportunity to meet with a joint panel comprising representatives from TSLS and the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation. These individual discussions were aimed at addressing unique circumstances and identifying available resources to facilitate a smoother transition to studying abroad.
TSLS announced plans to hold similar orientations in the Western and Northern divisions in the upcoming weeks, highlighting the organization’s dedication to ensuring that all scholarship recipients are well-prepared. Currently, 36 students have received offers for scholarships to study overseas, and TSLS is continuing its assessment process while reminding applicants that the submission deadline for all schemes is this Saturday.
This proactive approach by TSLS not only signifies its commitment to student success but also underscores the importance of proper preparation for those seeking higher education opportunities abroad. With ongoing assessments and additional orientations planned, students can feel confident that they are supported during this significant transition.
