Trust Erodes: Methodist Church Faces Exodus as Leadership Falters

Members of the Methodist Church are leaving due to what they describe as poor, inconsistent, and impractical leadership. This observation was made by Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, president of the Methodist Church of Fiji, during a conference on Friday.

Dr. Turagavou urged ministers and church leaders to remember that church funds should not be misused for personal gain and expressed concern over a decline in moral conduct and instances of malpractice within the church community.

He commented on the issue, stating, “Instead of shepherding and gathering the sheep, we tend to mislead and divide them through immoral and impulsive decision-making.” He emphasized the urgency to restore the church’s integrity and the image of Christ before it’s too late.
