“Trust Erodes as Methodist Church Faces Leadership Crisis”

Members of the Methodist Church are leaving the congregation due to “poor, inconsistent, and impractical leadership styles.” This observation was made by Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, the president of the Methodist Church of Fiji, during a conference on Friday.

Dr. Turagavou urged ministers and church leaders to ensure that church funds are not used for personal gain and highlighted a troubling erosion of moral standards, including instances of malpractice within the church.

He pointed out, “Rather than guiding and uniting our members, we are often leading them astray and creating division through unethical and hasty choices.”

He emphasized the urgent need to regain, reclaim, and restore the church’s image consistent with Christ’s teachings before the situation deteriorates further.
