A heavy rain warning has been issued, alerting residents in various areas across the Fiji group to expect adverse weather conditions throughout the week. According to Fiji MET, heavy rainfall could cause flash flooding in low-lying areas, particularly in Navua, Suva, and Nausori, accompanied by intermittent showers and isolated thunderstorms.
On Thursday, the forecast indicates sporadic rain, which may be heavy at times, along with the possibility of thunderstorms. This precipitation is likely to cause flash flooding in low-lying areas of Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba, particularly during the afternoon or evening hours when cloudy periods with showers and thunderstorms are more common.
Localized heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding in vulnerable areas. In Labasa, occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to persist through Friday.
