Tropical Disturbance TD04F: Is Fiji in the Clear?

Spread the love

The Fiji Meteorological Service has reported that Tropical Disturbance 04F holds a minimal chance of evolving into a tropical cyclone while traversing Fiji waters. As of 3 PM today, the disturbance was situated north of Vanua Levu and is moving southeastward.

According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, a slow-moving trough of low pressure persists over the northern regions of Fiji, leading to cloud cover and potential showers in those areas until tonight. Notably, a prior heavy rain warning for the Northern division has been lifted, as has a heavy rain alert for the Northern Lau group.

This update will bring relief to many in the affected communities, as the cancellation of heavy rain alerts indicates a reduction in immediate weather threats. It is a reminder that the weather can be unpredictable, but the proactive measures taken by meteorological services help keep the public informed and safe.

In summary, while the disturbance poses little threat, vigilance and preparedness are always advised during unpredictable weather patterns.
