Qenika Ravula’s inspiring journey to graduation is a testament to perseverance and faith, as he celebrated earning his National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic Level Three during the Pacific Polytech graduation ceremony at Kshatriya Hall in Labasa. Despite battling a spinal disorder known as kyphosis for over a decade, which has affected his physical appearance, Ravula proudly walked across the stage to receive his diploma from the Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga.
The 20-year-old, who comes from a large family in Vuinaqalutu Village, Dreketi, knows the value of support. His mother’s dedication and the assistance of the Social Welfare Department have played crucial roles in their lives, allowing him to pursue his education even while bearing the weight of his physical challenges. Ravula noted that he is the first in his family to achieve a trade certificate, symbolizing hope and opportunity for his siblings.
Mr. Ravula’s path to graduation began after completing Year 12 at Ahmadiyya Muslim College. With the encouragement of his family, he enrolled in the Naleba Youth Training Centre, where he took advantage of the Tertiary Education and Loan Scheme to complete a five-month course.
Expressing his gratitude and determination, Ravula shared, “I thank my mother for always being there for me and God for enabling me to be strong.” He encourages other young individuals facing difficulties to find strength through faith rather than resorting to negative choices. “Trust in God, make good choices, and work hard,” he inspires.
Ravula’s story exemplifies the power of resilience and the belief that with hard work and support, anyone can overcome adversity and reach their goals. As he reflects on his achievements, his message is clear: God has a plan for everyone, and with perseverance, success is within reach.
This story highlights not only Ravula’s personal triumph but also serves as an inspiration to others facing challenges, reminding us all that with determination and faith, we can achieve our dreams.
