Organizers of the upcoming Triple N Zone Athletics competition are intensifying security measures to ensure the safety of athletes, students, and spectators during the two-day event. Zone delegate Joe Daunabou has announced that they are coordinating with two police stations in Suva, including the Southern Division, Nabua Police Station, and Totogo Police Station, to provide security support. A K-9 Unit will also be present to help maintain a safe environment amidst growing concerns about drug issues among the youth.
The competition, taking place at the HFC Bank Stadium, will feature over 1,000 athletes representing 18 schools, and is set to begin next Thursday. It will be broadcast live on FBC Sports, allowing those unable to attend the opportunity to witness the excitement.
This event continues to highlight the robust athletic culture in Fiji, fostering community spirit and encouraging healthy lifestyles among students. Individuals are urged to rally behind their schools, as this competition not only showcases athletic talent but also serves as a stepping stone toward the National Championship Coca-Cola Games scheduled for April 24-26.
The proactive approach to security demonstrates a commitment to creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all involved in the competition. As young athletes prepare to showcase their skills, the community’s support illustrates the importance of unity in promoting sports and engaging youth in positive activities.
