Authorities in Lautoka and Nadi have made significant strides in combating drug-related crimes with the arrest of three individuals suspected of drug possession. The arrests occurred during separate police operations on a recent day.

The first incident involved a 26-year-old mechanic hailing from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place, Nadi. They were apprehended by the Police K-9 Unit on Waiyavi Street in Lautoka, where officers discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

In a separate operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after police discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. A follow-up raid at his residence by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit revealed additional marijuana seedlings.

All three suspects are currently in police custody as investigations into their cases progress. These arrests underscore the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to tackle drug-related issues and maintain community safety.

This development serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement and the public in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking. As investigations continue, it is hoped that these actions will deter future crimes and foster a safer environment for all.
