Three individuals are set to appear in a special court session today, facing charges linked to an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. The suspects are accused of stealing a vehicle, which they allegedly used during a break-in at a property in the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During this incident, they reportedly took a safe and various electronic items belonging to a local businessman.

Following the crime, police from the Southern Division and Samabula task forces worked diligently, pursuing multiple leads that led to the suspects’ arrests this week in Raiwaqa. The accused, aged 36, 37, and 40, are facing multiple charges, including criminal trespass, aiding and abetting theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and serious assault.

They will be presented before the Suva Magistrates Court for further proceedings.

Amid the challenges posed by such incidents, it is encouraging to see law enforcement agencies collaborating effectively to ensure justice is served and community safety is prioritized. This reflection of vigilance and commitment to tackling crime is a hopeful sign for the residents in the area.
