Triad of Drug Dealers Busted in Major Raids

Three men suspected of involvement in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs were apprehended in separate operations yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that the first operation was carried out by the Nausori Crime team in Raralevu, where authorities confiscated over 50 zip-lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with 15 packets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana. Two men, aged 53 and 29, were arrested in connection with this operation and are currently in custody.

Additionally, ACP Driu reported that in the Western Division, a 46-year-old man was taken into custody in Solovi, Nadi, after being found with more than 170 packets of dried leaves also believed to be marijuana. This suspect remains in custody as investigations proceed.

ACP Driu emphasized that the police will intensify their efforts against individuals involved in drug distribution and sales, especially during significant social and sporting events, which are often targeted by drug dealers.
