Plans are underway to enhance municipal facilities and improve Lions Park with a focus on beautification and public services. Special administrator Samuela Ligairi stated that the goal is to develop the park into a vibrant activity center where both residents and visitors can unwind and enjoy their leisure time.
Ligairi emphasized the importance of understanding the facilities that the community needs, noting that there are plans to install benches throughout the park for visitors to relax. This year, the council has launched multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing community services, including the installation of over 20 benches in strategic locations across the town.
“We are dedicated to delivering the best services to our community,” he remarked.
In addition to the beautification and upgrades to municipal parks, Ligairi highlighted the responsibility of residents to take care of these facilities. He underscored the necessity of proper waste disposal to prevent littering. Several closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed in town to monitor and deter littering behaviors.
Ligairi also encouraged local businesses to join council-led clean-up efforts and to organize their own clean-up activities at least once a month, stating, “This will improve the cleanliness of the township and attract more visitors.”
