Transforming Fiji’s Education: A Call to Head Teachers

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop effective strategies to enhance children’s education and overall learning in Fiji. During the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an environment that sparks inspiration and fosters innovative thinking among students, enabling them to become solution-oriented leaders in the future.

Mr. Radrodro highlighted the need for educators to connect traditional methods with modern innovations, urging them to empower students to think independently. He stated, “Teamwork is vital for social cohesion, but first, we must shape our children’s characters to instill a sense of purpose, vision, and direction.”

He encouraged school leaders to extend their roles beyond the classroom, advocating for increased involvement in students’ lives, including engaging with their parents. “Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to guide your schools, and we must build an educational system where every student can succeed, every teacher can thrive, and every community can prosper,” he added.
