Transforming Education: A Call to Action for Fiji’s Head Teachers

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to implement practical solutions to enhance children’s education in Fiji.

During the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro emphasized the need for an environment that inspires children’s minds and encourages innovative thinking, enabling them to become the problem-solvers of the future.

Mr. Radrodro highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between tradition and innovation and called on educators to empower students to develop independent thinking. He also pointed out that teamwork is essential for fostering social cohesion and stressed the need to instill a sense of purpose and direction in children’s education.

Heads of Schools (HOS) were encouraged to extend their influence beyond the classroom by engaging with students and their families, offering support and assistance as needed.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to lead your schools, and it is essential to create an educational environment where every student can succeed, every teacher can thrive, and every community can prosper,” Mr. Radrodro stated.
