Transforming Education: A Call for Innovation in Fiji’s Schools

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to develop effective strategies to enhance children’s learning and improve the educational landscape in Fiji.

During the inauguration of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an inspiring environment that stimulates children’s creativity and cultivates them into solution-oriented leaders for the future.

Mr. Radrodro encouraged the educators to serve as a bridge between traditional methods and innovative approaches, highlighting the significance of empowering students to think independently.

“While teamwork is essential for fostering social cohesion, we must first shape our children’s character to instill a sense of purpose, vision, and direction,” he stated.

He advised school leaders to extend their roles beyond the classroom, emphasizing the importance of engaging with families to support children’s development.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in your capacity to lead your schools, and together, we should strive to create an educational environment where all students can succeed, all teachers can excel, and all communities can prosper,” Mr. Radrodro concluded.
