The Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants (FICA) is organizing a half-day workshop featuring Jerad Dias, a notable figure in finance and accounting. Mr. Dias, the founder and Chief Knowledge Officer of Minds Global Academy (Pvt) Ltd as well as the CEO of Cabraal FPO (Pvt) Ltd, brings over 20 years of experience in audit, advisory, and training. He holds a B.Com (Special) degree and has significantly impacted the field through his roles as a Partner at BDO Sri Lanka and his leadership in the Training and Technical departments at EY and BDO.
The workshop titled “The Most Powerful and Practical Approach in Risk Identification & Assessment in External and Internal Audits” aims to equip participants with the skills to accurately identify high-risk areas and develop targeted procedures that enhance their organizations. Tarlochan Singh, FICA Professional Development chairman, stated that the workshop caters to all sectors dedicated to improving their risk identification and assessment skills.
Attendees can expect to learn various topics, including the strengths of controls-driven versus risk-focused audit approaches, the role of internal audits in identifying material misstatements, how internal audits can add value beyond compliance, mastering materiality concepts in audits, and innovative techniques for risk identification and assessment.
The workshop is set to take place on September 12 at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) training room in Nasese, Suva.
