Two individuals lost their lives in a vehicle crash on Wailoaloa Road in Nadi on the morning of Sunday, August 4. The deceased were passengers in a car driven by a 30-year-old man from Lovu in Lautoka.
Reports indicate that the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle but lost control, leading to the tragic accident. The two men died at the scene, while three other passengers sustained serious injuries and were quickly transported to Nadi Hospital for treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, stated that preliminary investigations suggest that excessive speed and alcohol may have contributed to the incident. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
