A tragic accident occurred in Navaga, Navosa, claiming the life of a truck driver in his 40s. The incident took place yesterday morning shortly after 10 am, as reported by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana.
The driver was transporting gravel when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle while descending a hill, causing the truck to veer off the road. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
Current statistics reveal that the national road death toll has reached 60 for this year, which is an improvement compared to 74 deaths recorded during the same time last year. This shift highlights ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce fatalities.
