Tragic Road Accident Claims Young Life in Lautoka

A 20-year-old man from Matanagata, Tavua lost his life in a road accident on Saturday morning along the Kings Road in Naviyago, Lautoka. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the victim was one of three passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man. SSP Divuana reported that the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the railing of the Naviyago bridge and fell into the river. The victim and another passenger were taken to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where the victim was declared dead upon arrival. This incident brings the current road death toll to 41, a decrease from 63 during the same period last year.
