Tragic Road Accident Claims Young Life in Lautoka

A 20-year-old man from Matanagata, Tavua, tragically lost his life in a road accident along Kings Road in Naviyago, Lautoka, on Saturday morning. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the deceased was one of three passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the railing of the Naviyago bridge and fell into the river. The victim and another passenger were promptly taken to the Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where the young man was declared dead upon arrival. Currently, the road death toll stands at 41, a significant decrease from 63 fatalities recorded during the same period last year.
