Tragic Road Accident Claims Young Life in Lautoka

A 20-year-old man from Matanagata, Tavua, lost his life in a road accident on Kings Road in Naviyago, Lautoka, on Saturday morning. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, reported that the victim was one of three passengers in a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man. It is alleged that the driver lost control, resulting in the vehicle crashing into the railing of the Naviyago bridge and tumbling into the river. The victim and another passenger were taken to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival. Currently, the road death toll stands at 41, a decrease from 63 during the same time last year.
