A 39-year-old Fijian farm worker tragically lost his life in a road accident in Perth, Western Australia, on Sunday evening. Sikeli Nawaqa was driving a Hyundai Getz when the vehicle veered off Dandaragan Road and collided with a tree shortly after 7 p.m. He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other men in the car were seriously injured and were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
Nawaqa’s family remembers him as a “kind and hard-working” individual. His employer, Agri Fresh, expressed their sorrow, stating that the “devastating loss has sent shockwaves through our entire organization.” They described him as a compassionate and dedicated member of the team who will be greatly missed.
Among the injured passengers, a 27-year-old man is in critical condition and fighting for his life in the intensive care unit. Two others, aged 30 and 38, sustained serious injuries but are in stable condition in the state trauma unit.
Authorities from Major Crash are investigating the incident and are urging any witnesses to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Nawaqa is survived by his wife and four children.
