A 39-year-old farm worker from Fiji died in a road accident in Perth, Western Australia, on Sunday evening. Sikeli Nawaqa’s Hyundai Getz left the roadway and collided with a tree on Dandaragan Road shortly after 7 PM. He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other male passengers were seriously injured and transported by helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital.
Nawaqa’s family described him as “kind and hard-working.” His employer, Agri Fresh, expressed their sorrow, stating that the “devastating loss has sent shockwaves through our entire organization.” They remembered him as a “kind, warm-hearted, gentle, passionate and committed member of our team, who will be dearly missed.”
Among the injured, a 27-year-old male passenger is in critical condition and fighting for his life in the intensive care unit. Two other men, aged 30 and 38, are receiving treatment for serious injuries and are reported to be in stable condition in the state trauma unit.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash and are urging any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Nawaqa is survived by his wife and four children.
