A 39-year-old farm worker from Fiji tragically lost his life in a car accident in Perth, Western Australia, on Sunday evening. Sikeli Nawaqa was driving his Hyundai Getz when it veered off Dandaragan Road and crashed into a tree shortly after 7 PM. He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other men who were in the vehicle also sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. One of the passengers, a 27-year-old man, is currently in critical condition and battling for his life in the intensive care unit, while two others, aged 30 and 38, are in stable condition at the state trauma unit.
Nawaqa’s family described him as “kind and hard-working.” His employer, Agri Fresh, expressed deep sorrow over his passing, stating that the “devastating loss has sent shockwaves through our entire organization.” They remembered him as a “kind, warm-hearted, gentle, passionate and committed member of our team, who will be dearly missed.”
Major Crash investigators are currently looking into the incident and are seeking any witnesses to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000. Nawaqa leaves behind his wife and four children.
