The Totogo Traffic Unit has identified a 62-year-old man who passed away due to injuries from a road accident last month. The victim was confirmed by a relative yesterday, following his death at the Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital on February 10.

The tragic incident took place on January 29, 2025, when the man was reportedly struck by a bus while crossing Edinburgh Drive. He had been in critical condition since the accident until his recent passing.

Authorities have expressed gratitude to the community for their support during the investigation, and they have since cancelled the earlier appeal for assistance in identifying the victim.

This unfortunate event highlights the ongoing concern for pedestrian safety in busy areas, underlining the need for greater awareness among drivers and more robust traffic regulations to protect those on foot. It serves as a reminder that road safety is a collective responsibility that requires the attention and cooperation of all road users.
