A man in his 50s has tragically lost his life after an accident while returning home from a night shift. Reports indicate that he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a post. The incident took place this morning in Davuilevu, Nausori.
According to the Director of Traffic, SSP Mitieli Divuana, emergency responders from the National Fire Authority and the police arrived at the scene and transported the man for medical attention. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility. SSP Divuana has mentioned that a post-mortem examination will be conducted soon.
As of now, the national road death toll has reached 40, showing an improvement compared to 63 fatalities recorded during the same period last year.
