A man in his 50s tragically lost his life in an accident while returning home after completing a night shift. It is reported that the individual lost control of his car, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and colliding with a post. The incident took place this morning in Davuilevu, Nausori.
SSP Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, informed that both the National Fire Authority and the police responded to the scene and promptly transported the victim for medical care. Unfortunately, he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
SSP Divuana mentioned that a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out soon. Currently, the national road death toll has reached 40, a decrease from 63 fatalities recorded during the same timeframe last year.
