A man in his 50s tragically lost his life this morning after an accident in Davuilevu, Nausori, while returning home from a night shift. Reports indicate that he lost control of his vehicle, which then swerved off the road and collided with a post.
Authorities, including officials from the National Fire Authority and the Police, arrived at the scene and quickly transported the victim for medical care, but he was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
SSP Mitieli Divuana, the Director of Traffic, mentioned that a post-mortem examination will be performed soon. The national road death toll has now reached 40, a decrease from 63 fatalities during the same period last year.
